	1:00 pm – Plaster Casts.*  Make plaster of Paris casts of animal footprints.  Ages 2 and up.  50¢ fee.  Casts will require about 1 hour to set.<br />
	1:30 pm – Skins, Skulls, and Tracks.  See what these three things can tell us about how an animal lives.  All ages.</p>
<p><B>Sunday, May 27th</B><br />
	1:30 pm – Oklahoma Reptiles.  Learn the characteristics of different reptile groups and meet the Nature Center’s resident representatives.  All ages.<br />
	3:00 pm – Clay Leaf Prints.  Make a print of a real leaf in self-hardening clay.  Ages 4 and up.  $1.00 fee.  Please call for reservation.</p>

<p>Almost two years to the day after two tornadoes tore through the area, the Little Axe campground is finally open again for business. Crews have been cleaning up the popular campground that suffered a direct hit from one of the tornadoes that appeared on May 10, 2010. </p>
<p>The 1/2 mile wide E-3 twister also destroyed a marina, Little Axe school buildings, many homes, and caused one death. Damage to the Little Axe campground was extensive, including taking cabins off their foundations, mangling a group shelter and flattening numerous trees.</p>

	1:30 pm – Bats Around Us.  A slide show for all ages featuring interesting facts and outstanding photography of a very beneficial, though often misunderstood, group of animals.<br />
	3:00 pm – Nature Walk.  Weather permitting, join us for a short walk around the Nature Center area to see what plant and animal life can be found and what they’re doing.  All ages.</p>
<p><B>Saturday, April 28th    CLEAN SWEEP</B><br />
	9:00 am – 2:00 pm – Please come help us clean up the Park in preparation for the summer season.  Individuals, families, groups of all kinds – everyone is welcome and needed!  Check in at the Nature Center for trash bags, gloves, and suggested places to clean up.  Come for all or any part of the 5-hour event.  Every child 12 and under who collects at least 25 pieces of trash will be awarded a nature poster!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lake Thunderbird State Park is a popular attraction for many children from the Little Axe area. In order to make this year&#8217;s Hunt better than ever, volunteers are needed.</p>
<p>The Easter Egg Hunt will take place this coming Saturday, April 7th, at 1 pm.  Although more candy donations in any amount would be welcome, the real need is for volunteers to help with advance preparations or during the event itself.  Specifically, volunteers are needed to</p>
<blockquote><p>
            *Fill plastic eggs with candy or toy prizes on Thursday and/or Friday<br />
            *Help set up the areas for the different age groups<br />
            *Wear the Park Pal costume and interact with the children<br />
            *Monitor the special areas for 1 and 2-year-olds<br />
            *Help with prize drawing and distribution<br />
            *Clean-up</p></blockquote>

	11:00 am – What’s An Equinox, Anyway?  Learn what an equinox is, how it happens, and some ways people have celebrated it.  Ages 5 and up.  (A version for older children and adults will be offered on Saturday)<br />
	1:00 pm – What’s Going On in Spring?  A new program in which children are encouraged to notice the seasonal changes happening in nature.  Ages 4-9.<br />

	3:30 pm – Nature Songs.  Join the Naturalist and her guitar for a round of fun songs about animals and nature.  Ages 3 and up.</p>
